I’ll give you the bad news first- It’s our last couple of weeks for Indiana strawberries. These ripe berries are featured from northern Indiana in La Porte, currently being sold by the quart ($4.25), pint ($2.50), and half-pint ($2.00). It’s your last chance to taste some of our delicious berries- or you’ll have to wait till next summer!
Now for the good news! Our South Carolina peaches and Indiana blueberries from North Judson will be here next weekend! Our peach schedule is as follows…
June 20 – Harvester: “Excellent tasting freestone peach with very consistent size. 50% to 70% red with a yellow to orange background. Other varieties will include Red Haven and Cary Mac.”
June 25 – Blaze Prince: “A flavorful peach having beautiful red color. 90% red and firm. Other varieties ripening with Blaze Prince include Fire Price.”
July 2 – Red Globe: “The southern standard for peaches. A flavorful, freestone peach with 60%-70% red blush color. Other varieties include summer Gold and Bounty.”
July 30 – O’Henry: “One of the best tasting peaches in America. It is 90% red and very firm. Other varities during that time include Monroe and Flame Prince.”
August 16- Big Red: “Largest fruit of the year. A juicy freestone that is 50% - 60% red with a rich yellow background. Other varieties during that time include Parade and Sunny J.”

and as always, sugar cream pie!
Ron is going down to southern Indiana to pick up the belated red beauties tonight!
He’ll drive all night to get them to you tomorrow morning. It’ll be like Christmas–if Christmas were in May, and Santa Claus brought the most delicious strawberries.
Tomato season is in full swing. We’ll tell you a little secret: Ours come from a special place. Tennessee. We get them from Tennessee because Tennessee tomatoes are the juiciest, most flavorful around, and our secret family grower (third generation) says this is the best batch they’ve had in years.
These tomatoes will show up in new dishes like our tomato salad, sans cheese, but kissed with a little balsamic vinaigrette and olive oil. They’re also good with our baby greens, which you can now get as a side salad with your choice of our homemade rosemary or citrus vinaigrette.
Besides the regular inventory alerts, we wanted to keep our customers in the loop: As many of you know, we had an issue with our credit line being continually operational recently. We just want to make sure—if there are any inconsistencies with your statement, please bring it to our attention.
Finally, our organic Indiana flour is proving quite popular. Come get some!
