1. EARTHseed Farm
Located in Sebastopol, EARTHseed Farm was established in 2021, so it’s quite a lot younger than some of the other fruit-picking farms on this list.
It prides itself on being a “4-acre solar-powered organic farm and orchard located on the ancestral lands of the Coast Miwok and Southern Pomo Peoples in Sonoma County, California.”
At EARTHseed there are so many different fruit-picking options for you to choose from, and they change depending on the season.
In June, you can pick things like plums and blackberries, whereas, in November, you can pick Fuji Apples and Persimmons!

2. Chileno Valley Ranch
Found in the rolling hills of Coastal Marin, Chileno Valley Ranch is primarily an apple-picking farm, but it is also home to grass-fed beef cows and it is owned by Mike and Sally Gale.
It’s a relatively popular venue for weddings, with quite a few being held there each year.
There are plenty of apple varieties for you to choose from here, some of which include Orin, Pinova, Candy Crisp, and Jonagold.
Apple picking is only available to the public on Sundays, and the varieties of apples change depending on the season, so check the website before you go!

3. Swanton Pacific Ranch
Swanton Pacific Ranch is a CCOF Certified Organic U-Pick Apple Orchard that usually opens to the public at the end of September.
The orchard at Swanton Pacific Ranch is incredibly beautiful and in season, it is filled with a fantastic variety of apples that you and your family can pick for yourself.
The ranch is owned by the California Polytechnic State University (Cal Poly) and it is primarily used for research in sustainable agriculture.

4. Cloverfield Organic Farm
Cloverfield Organic Farm is the first certified organic farm in El Sobrante. They have a wide variety of fruits and vegetables are grown on-site, as well as herbs, potted plants, and flowers.
Fruit picking is available to the public on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, and what fruit you can pick varies depending on what time of the year you visit.
The picking season starts in May and ends in September, so the farm is open for quite a few months, allowing you a bit of extra time to decide when you want to go.
In May and June, there are a plethora of different fruits, vegetables, and herbs available, some of which include green wild plums, varieties of mint, strawberries, asparagus, chamomile, rhubarb, green onions, chives, lettuce, beets, kale, marshmallow leaves, and rosemary.

This three-generation farm is completely family-run. The farm was opened in 1921, so it has been around for quite a while.
The Andreotti Family Farm grows practically every winter vegetable you can think of and their main attractions are their sunflower field and Pumpkin Patch in the fall.
There is even a Haunted Corn Maze that can be enjoyed by the whole family!

As a fourth-generation farm, McKinney Farms specializes in absolutely delicious peaches, nectarines, and apricots, all of which are available for you to pick for yourself! The farm is typically open to the public during the months of May through to early August.

10. AIRAYA U-Pick Farm

11. Mike’s UPick Peaches
Mike’s UPick Peaches has been farming for over 30 years and as the name would suggest, they specialize in do-it-yourself peach picking! Along with peaches, they also specialize in other “stone fruits” which include nectarines and cherries.
At Concord Avenue, you can pick all the nectarines and peaches you want! The picking season starts around the end of May, and the farm is home to white peaches and white nectarines.

12. Duckworth Family Farm – Organic U-Pick Blueberries
Certified organic, Duckworth is a family-run farm that specializes in do-it-yourself blueberry picking! You can pick as many blueberries as you want at this farm, and all of the staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming.
Along with blueberry picking, some of the other things you can do at Duckworth Family Farm include picnicking, spending time by their wonderful pond, and the farm also offers guests some delicious homemade blueberry ice cream that you definitely need to try!

13. Victoria Island Farm
If you really love blueberries, then Victoria Island Farm is another blueberry-picking farm you need to check out! This farm is famous for its blueberries, with people describing them as plump, tasty, and incredibly fresh.
The blueberries at Victoria Island Farm start to ripen in May and they are usually harvested in early July, so make sure you check their website to find out the best dates in between to visit.

14. Gizdich Ranch
located in Watsonville, Gizdich Ranch is home to various types of fruit that you can go and pick, some of which include Strawberries, Olallieberries, Boysenberries, and Apples.
Their opening dates vary, but you just need to call ahead and they will provide you with all the information that you need.
Gizdich Ranch takes pride in the wonderful atmosphere they have created on site and if you forget to bring a container for your fruit, they are happy to provide one for you when you get there.

15. Gilroy U-Pick
Gilroy is the only family-operated U-Pick farm in Gilroy, California, and it is definitely worth visiting if you have the chance!
They have a wide variety of fruits and vegetables for you to pick yourself and they change depending on which month you go. Some of the produce you can pick here include cherries, strawberries, blackberries, plums, watermelons, cantaloupes, corn, and string beans!

16. Swanton Berry Farm
Founded in 1983 by Jim Cochran, Swanton Berry Farm grows organic strawberries. They have been growing strawberries organically on the farm longer than anyone else in the area!
They are now the first certified organic strawberry farm in California (CCOF).
The farm actively encourages the public to come and pick their strawberries for themselves and they take pride in their human and organic way of farming.
All of their staff are incredibly welcoming and friendly too, and you will have a wonderful time when you visit.

17. Bacchini’s Fruit Tree
Bacchini’s Fruit Tree is another family-owned and operated U-pick farm. They have been growing premium-quality fruit since 1945 and they have a wide variety of fruits for you to choose from.
Some of the produce you can pick here include White Peaches, Kiowa Blackberries, Sweet Cherries, White Rainier cherries, Olallieberries, Pluots, Santa Rosa Plum, White Nectarines, Apricots, Loquats, Raw Honey, and Walnuts.

Located in Brentwood, Three Nunns Farm is very welcoming and friendly towards anyone who visits their farm. Once you arrive on-site, you will receive all the information you need to have the best fruit-picking experience.
There are over 40 acres for you to explore and plenty of different fruits to pick, some of which include strawberries, cherries, blueberries, pomegranates, cucumbers, watermelons, bell peppers, cantaloupes, peppers, garlic, and pumpkins.

20. Mike’s U-pick Cherries
Mike’s U-pick Cherries has been in Brentwood for over 30 years. As previously mentioned, they have a dedicated peach-picking site, but did you know that they also have a dedicated cherry-picking site too?
If you would rather pick cherries than peaches, then you definitely need to check out their Payne Avenue orchard, where you can choose from a wide variety, some of which include Coral Champagnes (Corals), White Rainiers, and Lapins cherries.

Cherry Time is another farm that is perfect to visit if you are in the mood for some cherry-picking. You can pick all the cherries you want at this farm, and the season usually starts at the beginning of May.
