Not only this, but they have their own vineyard on hand for those of you who are fond of wine, with grapes that are grown and picked right from the farm. Of course though, it’s not just grapes that can be picked here.
Some of the most amazing strawberries can be picked, and they make it fun for the whole family. In fact, they tailor a “read and pick” activity directly to your kids. The kids get a proactive experience at the farm, incorporating education and fun together!
The strawberry picking specifically runs from the end of May to early June and it’s a great way to kickstart your summer season with the tastes and aromas of authentic, fresh, juicy strawberries!
2. Melick’s Town Farm
Melick’s Town Farm is another place that prides itself on growing everything they have themselves, providing a very local feeling to their produce. The farm has been around for about 300 years and has been a staple to the local community ever since.
They produce fresh fruit and vegetables, jams, jellies and baked goods – but they also have some very well kept plants, shrubs and even Christmas trees for sale! Indeed, this has been the culture at this farm ever since 1725!

3. Phillips Farms
Phillips Farms have a huge dedication to its customers, and one of their major aims is to improve the food and lifestyle quality of everybody they can – which their produce can help to do.
This is because they grow and sell some of the most fresh, well looked after produce on their unique lands. They encourage visitors to explore their land and understand a little bit about how you can connect to the earth and appreciate its fruits.
As with other farms, Phillips Farms offers some of the best fruits, vegetables, jams and other goods at their farmer’s market – but the farm is a lot more active than just a simple transaction.
They want you to go and pick your own apples, blueberries and of course – strawberries!
4. Battleview Orchards
Battleview Orchards is one of the places in New Jersey you should go if you’re looking for extremely fresh fruit which is bursting with flavor and juices.
They have some amazing fruit products here including nectarines, peaches and pumpkins – and yes, strawberries!
While the public are encouraged to come to the orchards and pick their own fruits, you can happily head to the country store to purchase goods that are already picked.
At the same time, you can buy some gorgeous apple pies, apple cider donuts or other goods!
It’s important to note that Battleview Orchards run a lot of seasonal events, which can be inclusive of strawberry picking. They usually charge a small fee for you to go and pick your fruits – but it’s entirely worth it!
5. Stoneyfield Orchard
Down the aptly named Orchard Street, you’ll come across this magnificent, family owned, orchard where you have the choice to either pick your own strawberries or ask the staff to pick it for you.
You have the opportunity to purchase plenty of their fresh produce, some of which is absolutely stunning. You’ll find things like apples, peaches, pears, cherries and strawberries.
However, there’s also plenty of gorgeous vegetables here too.
These include; potatoes, broccoli, cauliflower, cabbage and even fresh herbs. You can also buy fresh eggs, cheeses, jams, jellies, syrups relishes and salad dressings.
When you’re heading here for strawberry picking specifically though, be advised that the season is throughout June only – so plan accordingly!
6. Alstede Farms
Alstede Farms considers itself to be a place where you can discover and explore the lands, fruits and vegetables in a very unique way. They want you to really enjoy your time while you are here and they hope to make your short time at the farms memorable.
Of course, part of this is being able to pick some of the most gorgeous fresh fruits and vegetables – but on top of that, you can even just stop in and pet their cute little farm animals, who are all incredibly friendly and adorable.
In fact, these farms even allow people to come in for a chilled relaxation while they escape all the hustle and bustle of the outside world. It truly is a place where you can just pause and reflect in a natural, calming environment.
The summer arrival is welcomed with strawberry picking, which takes place late May to early June. You should plan your trip around this if you are a first timer!
7. Dalton Farms

Finally on our list, we have a huge 99 acre family owned farm which is in a very convenient location, which is not too far from the Delaware Memorial Bridge.
The farm is completely entwined with the local history and everything they have at the farms is incredibly fresh and well looked after. Of course, strawberries are a part of this farm and of course, you can go and pick some amazing fruits!
The one thing you might have a problem with is going across the size of the farms. If you’re not particularly good on your feet, this may not be the right place for you.
However, if you’re okay with walking, then be prepared – because there’s a lot of land to cover! It might even be more beneficial for you to simply buy their strawberries at the store instead, rather than tire yourself out.
